Lets take a drive out of Southern California, it’s about an 8 hour scenic drive north of Los Angeles on highway 395.To a place that has the largest freshwater lake that straddles the boarder of California and Nevada.
This freshwater lake is known as Lake Tahoe. This freshwater beauty is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This lake town is famous for its gorgeous beaches and ski resorts.

Growing up in Southern California, I have connections literally to anything and everything I could ever want. Though once summer would hit, I would spend sometime at home going to the beach, then pack my bags and head north to Lake Tahoe, which is my favorite place in the world.
I am lucky enough to have family that live in this lake town because I get to do things that most people only do for vacation when I would literally spend almost my entire winter or summer break up their.
Now I am going to give you tips on what to do for winter and summer in this lake town because honestly there is so much to do!!

Lake Tahoe is the perfect summer destination and a perfect quick get away if your near San Francisco your only about a 3 hour drive and if your in Los Angeles about an 8 hour drive. But those drives just to get to this place is a sight to see as well.
There is always something going on in Lake Tahoe during the summer. All the roads are open so you can find great hiking spots that will take you to some great sights.
Here are somethings to do on your summer trip:
- Hiking
- Camping
- Driving around the lake
- Rafting on the Truckee river
- Hangout at the resort
- Take family & friends out and hangout at Zephyr Cove on the beach for the day
- Vikingsholm Castle
I talked about summer in Tahoe a little and you got some ideas on what to do. Now lets talk about one of my favorite times of the year WINTER.
Tahoe winter? YES PLEASE!. Tis the season where the mountain peaks are packed with fresh powder. A place where it’s literally a snowboarders and skiers paradise. I must say Lake Tahoe is a magical place during the winter time, it must be the fresh mountain air or the snow on the ground.

Though you must be wondering what there is to do during the winter time when everyone says its a summer destination. Let me tell you their is a lot you could do.
