Welcome to the heart of America. This city sits along the Mississippi River, home to the Cardinals baseball team and Blues hockey team. As your passing by you can see the city’s iconic landmark, which stands at 630-ft tall, the Gateway Arch. This is also a city that I like to call my: Home Base For Now

Welcome To St.Louis, Missouri
In my Lone Star post, I said I live in St. Louis. That is a TRUE statement. I thought long and hard about leaving my home state of California.. which took 2 long years of convincing myself. At the end of the day , I was ready for a change.

I’ve been here close to 3 months. I would be lying if I said I didn’t have culture shock and I wasn’t having a hard time adjusting but I am. Though it is totally normal.
Since I’ve been here, I have had some amazing experiences so far from making new friends, starting a new job, furthering my education, and going on some pretty cool adventures.
Here is my go to guide to navigating St.Louis
The Adventure Starts
When I think of St.Louis, I think of two things baseball & beer

St.Louis is known for there winning baseball team The Cardinals & the beer that is an American classic; Anheuser-Busch Budweiser Beer.

Must Do’s:
Coming to this city whether your a baseball fan or not you always have to go to a Cardinals game (if it’s baseball season). The games are pretty amazing to watch, let alone being surrounded by the energy of die hard fans. The locals know how to show hometown pride by attending a game or even watching it thru out the city.

If you’re wondering if The Cardinals beat The Giants, let me tell you Cardinals did beat them! The game ended in the 10th inning when Tyler O’Neil hit a home run, with the game ending score 5-4.
Baseball games are great to watch but also going to St.Louis Blues hockey game is just as fun. Even though St.Louis isn’t a huge hockey town, these local fans still know how to celebrate and show pride and show up to games.

St.Louis isn’t just a sports town, this town is also known for the Mississippi River & The Gateway Arch.

On a nice day take a walk around the Gateway Arch park and get a glimpse of the river that connects us to the roots of the midwest.

If you are feeling brave take a ride up inside of the Arch, where you will be standing tall of 630-feet over the city.

I highly recommend going into the Arch. It’s an experience that is one of kind and always something to mark off your bucket list.
Now you got somethings to do, lets talk about places to eat & drink
FOR The Foodie:
You can kill two birds with one stone. Head over to Budweiser Brewery take a tour and after the tour get something to eat at the restaurant connected to Brewery. I loved taking & drinking some great beer paired with some amazing food. 21+

If you want something little different take a trip over to the Historic Soulard. Where they tons of choices of bars & restaurants. One of my favorite places to eat & drink at is McGurk’s

From past experience and so you don’t waist your time they are closed on Monday’s and the rest of the week Tuesday-Saturday open 11am-1:30am, Sunday’s 3pm-12am.
This place has a wide range of irish dishes and has St.Louis own foods. I highly recommend coming here for dinner or bringing friends out for a great night out on the town.
After eating, I constantly think about having a sweet treat afterwards.By doing that take a trip to a STL favorite, Ted Drew’s frozen custard.

It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter this place is always tending to the long lines of locals & tourists who want to feed there inner child.
Now you got somethings to do & places to eat, hope my travels around St.Louis help you plan your adventure.
Last thought:
Los Angeles will always be my home, it shaped me into who I am today. I am just making new memories for awhile in a different city that I get to call home for now. It’s scary to think that it’s true but it is one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself.
Happy Travels
